About
How I started
I’m Big Lou, originally from St. Maarten and now based in London, Ontario. I came to Canada as a student at 15. For years, I lived in fear. Learning to take risks changed everything. I started as a motivational speaker, and in 2021 music became the way I deliver the message. Since then, I’ve played 88 community and festival shows.
What I offer
Keynote concerts: a talk and live original music in one. My signature keynote, MIND SET GO, gives people real tools for boundaries, resilience, and self-leadership. They leave energized, connected, and ready to act.
Island Hip Hop performances: Caribbean rhythms, Afro-soul, and Latin energy over hip hop. Sets run 15 to 60 minutes, for festivals, venues, community events, and celebrations.
What I’m known for
High energy and real connection. I opened for The Wailers in front of 4,000 people, performed at Lilla by Festivalen in Sweden, and I’m the 2025 FCLMA Hip Hop Artist of the Year. FC London had me back for their matchday halftime shows. One keynote attendee said the music “created this unique experience that stuck with me long after I left.”
What’s included (that others charge for)
My own sound system at no extra cost
A stage plot and tech rider before the event
Keynotes: a discovery call to customize the session, a run of show, an audience impact report, and a highlight reel for internal use
A custom verse about your organization’s values, performed live, with keynotes
Music: set options from 15 to 60 minutes, solo with a sound tech, with a live DJ, or with dancers
Why book me
I make it easy. Content, flow, sound, and performance are all handled. I show up prepared and bring the same energy to 50 people or 4,000. I’m easy to reach across Southwestern Ontario and the GTA, and I can also MC your full event.
